Let’s Start With A Plant You’re Familiar With-The DANDELION

So you think you know just about everything there is to know about the Dandelion. As a child you waited for the yellow flowers to turn to fluff and then you’d make a wish and blow, as the seeds danced upon the air. The Dandelion, bane of the pristine lawn and almost impossible to eliminate. Perhaps, mother nature is trying to tell us something. There is more to the lowly dandelion than meets the eye and the lawn. Let’s explore this amazing weed and find out what it has to offer.

First the scientific name for the Dandelion is: TARAXACUM OFFICINALE. I will pop in a bit of folk lore here by giving you the French name for the dandelion, “dent-de-lion” meaning lions tooth. (Due in fact to the ragged, razor tooth aspect of the leaves).
